Construction work on residential township for Afghan female police has begun in Kabul.
The township is estimated to cost 120 million USD, which will be funded by Canada, UK and South Korea.
The project is expected to be completed in two years and in four phases.
Commander of international forces in Afghanistan, John Nicholson, also said that policewomen were playing significant role in ensuring security of cities.
He reaffirmed support to security forces of the country.
Nicholson said that it was not possible to achieve shared goal of peace without participation of women.
He said that construction of residential township for female members of police was a major step in encouraging women to join security forces.
According to the general, the presence of women in Afghanistan police increased by 38 percent since 2014.
The township will be built for 300 families of female police
