President Ashraf Ghani inaugurated the runway of Khost province airport hours arriving in the province to inaugurate a number of projects as well as meeting with the local officials.
A press release from ARG (Presidential Palace) stated the runway was inaugurated in the presence of cabinet members, parliament and provincial council members, and some tribal elders of the province.
The Khost airport runway has a length of 2664 meters and width of 45 meters and has been built with a total cost of 729 million Afghanis.
President Ghani is also expected to inaugurate the construction of the inner roads of the airport and electricity transmission network for thirteen thousand families.
He also inaugurated the construction of compound for the radar system and firefighting department after inaugurating the runway, the statement added.
The statement further stated that President Ghani will have separate meetings with the Ulema, tribal elders and influential figures, provincial council members, district administrative chiefs, teachers, women, traders, civil society activists, and youths during his visit to Khost province.
