Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi announced a gift 40,000 tonnes of wheat to the Afghan people.
Abbasi made the announcement during his daylong visit to Kabul on Friday in response to an invitation from President Ashraf Ghani.
Abbasi also announced a waiver of additional regulatory duty on Afghan exports to Pakistan to help lift the war-torn country’s economy.
A statement from the Pakistan embassy here said the two sides also agreed to initiate discussions on consular matters and an exchange of civilian prisoners.
The visiting leader met President Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Mohammad Mohaqiq, Mohammad Karim Khalili and Pir Syed Hamid Gilani.
