The Pakistani prime minister met Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and other Afghan leaders in Kabul on Friday.
During his daylong visit, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and the CEO discussed the entire range of bilateral matters and agreed on regular contacts at the leadership level.
The Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad said Abbasi also met Hezb-i-Islami Afghanistan Chief Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Mohammad Mohaqiq, Karim Khalili, and Pir Syed Hamid Gilani.
Abbasi assured his interlocutors of support from the government and people of Pakistan to all Afghan ethnic groups. He also renewed Pakistan’s commitment to peace in Afghanistan.
He undertook the daylong trip on the invitation of President Ashraf Ghani.
He was presented a guard of honour upon arrival at the Presidential Palace.
