Teachers in remote districts of Kunduz province are on strike and have shut schools’ door demanding their salaries must be paid on timely manner.
They claim that the government has not paid their salaries over the past five months.
Mohammad Gul, a head teacher from Qala-e-Zal district, said that they will not open school’s door until the government pay their salaries.
Meanwhile Mohammad Rustam Ahmadi, provincial education director, said that teachers’ claim of not receiving salaries over the past five months are baseless and incorrect.
Ahmadi asserted that they have only not been paid over the past three months and assured that all teachers will receive their salaries by the end of this month.
