Sher Hussain Sahar, attorney at Daykundi provincial Attorney General’s Office, said provincial independent election head was arrested in suspicion of rape, carrying unlawful guns, and misuse of authority by National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives.
He added that Qasim Qasem, provincial head of independent election commission, was arrested by NDS personnel on March 20 and is currently being investigated.
Sahar further stated that Qasem’s case has been handed over to judicial organs for further probe.
Meanwhile a reliable source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said that forensic shows that the girl was not raped by Qasem.
