Security officials in Herat reported that an explosion ripped through Nabi Karim Mosque in Lelamia road of Herat city today.
Abdul Ahad Walizada, spokesman for Herat police, confirming the blast said that the incident happened around 1:30 pm today in Rangreze road.
According to him, two attackers approached the mosque on a motorcycle. When police stopped them the one detonated his explosives. Police gunned down the second attacker.
Meanwhile officials at Herat Zonal Hospital said that one killed and seven injured were transferred to the hospital from the blast site.
Daesh claimed responsibly.
