Taliban Welcomes Ismail’s Call for Peace Talks

Taliban in a statement has said the group welcomes the Following former Jihadi leader Mohammad Ismail’s call for peace with Mujahedeen.
Mohammad Ismail who was former governor of Herat and ex-minister of energy and water under Hamid Karzai’s government last week called on the Taliban to sit on negotiations table with Mujahedeen leaders.
He said war is not the solution to end the crisis.
“I call on government oppositions that if you cannot talk with government come and sit for a deal with the great family of Jihad and find a solution that will actually bring an Islamic system,” said Mohammad Ismail when he addressed a big gathering in Herat.
Mohammad Ismail is also member of Jamiat-e-Islami party.

Taliban said in the statement that the group appreciates all efforts to resolve the current conflict in the country.
The statement said the Taliban has constantly respected jihadi leaders in their statements.
The group calls on former Jihadi leaders to stand by the Taliban because “invaders have no good will for the Afghanistan and Afghans”.
The statement further said that now if the Jihadi leaders or someone else, Taliban invites them to reach an agreement they must refer to the Taliban’s office to share their ideas for ending the war.
Whether it is Jihadi figures or other people, the Taliban invite them to visit Taliban’s political office for “understanding” and share their ideas about ending the war in the country, the statement reads.
The remarks come after the Afghan government announced an unconditional peace offer to the Taliban in a bid to bring the group to the talks table.
Taliban has not clearly responded to government’s peace offer.
