Spring Polio Campaign Begins in Western Zone

Polio vaccination campaign began in Herat province and 700,000 children will be vaccinated against polio during the three-day campaign.
Mohammad Asif Rahimi, provincial governor appealed to insurgents to cooperate with health workers during the campaign.
“We appeal to the armed opponents and their families to cooperate with the volunteers so that their children can remain healthy,” said Rahimi.
Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria are the only countries where polio is still prevalent.
