Local officials in Uruzgan said that 28 Taliban insurgents were killed and 16 injured in airstrikes in Chora and Khasrozgan districts.
Brigadier Rahmat Shah Qemti, commander of fourth brigade of Afghan army in Trinkot, told Killid that the airstrikes were conducted in the districts yesterday and hideouts of insurgents were targeted.
He added that some weapons and ammunition of Taliban were also destroyed.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
