Two People Killed, 30 Shops Gutted in Jalalabad Blaze

At least two people were killed, as many injured and 30 shops burnt in a blaze caused by an explosion in Nangarhar province on Tuesday morning.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman said the fire erupted at 6:30 am when a magnetic bomb attached to a fuel tanker went off on the Ring Road in Jalalabad.
He said two people were killed and two others injured as a result of the fire in Behsud district. The flames spread to nearby shops and gutted about 30 shops, causing millions of Afs in losses.
Provincial fire brigade head Col. Fazal Hadi said firefighters were dispatched immediately to the site. They extinguished the blaze at 7am, he added.
