Acting Mines and Petroleum Minister Nargis Nehan, leading a high-level government delegation, has traveled to Canada to attend International Convention, Trade Show & Investors Exchange (PDAC) conference.
Abdul Qadir Mutfi, spokesman for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP), said that extraction of Afghanistan’s mines would be discussed with the Canadian firm.
He added that Nehan will also present Afghanistan’s Strategy for the Extractives Sector at PDAC 2018 on Tuesday.
According to the reports, Afghanistan is estimated to have 2.2 billion tonnes of iron ore, 1.3 billion tonnes of marble, almost 30 million tonnes of copper, 1.4 million tonnes of rare-earth minerals, and 2,700 kg of gold.
