Over 20 Afghan National Army soldiers were killed in a Taliban attack on a military base in Farah province overnight.
Farah provincial council official Dadullah Qani said the attack started at about 2 am in Bala Kansak area of Bala Block district and 25 army soldiers were killed.
Qani added that the Taliban also captured two soldiers and stole a large amount of weapons.
Farah security officials have not commented on the incident yet.
Meanwhile Qari Yosuf, a so-called Taliban spokesman, said that 25 Afghan army soldiers were killed, two soldiers were captured, and a large amount of weapons was stolen.
