A member of provincial council of Farah said that 30 policemen were killed and four were taken captive in a Taliban attack on security posts in Shahmalgah and Shahrah yak area of the province.
Dadullah Qaneh, deputy provincial couinicl of Farah, told Killid that Taliban attacked four security posts and took all weapons and ammunition of Afghan forces.
Qaneh cited presence of Iranian spices as the main reason behind insecurity in the province.
Meanwhile Naser Mehre, spokesman for Farah governor, told Killid that only eight policemen were killed in the attacks.
He added that 15 Taliban insurgents were killed and five injured in the counter-attack as well.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
