Security officials in Faryab said that 95 Taliban insurgents along with 11 prominent commanders were killed in Afghan security forces’ operation codenamed ‘Nawed 8’ in Khoja Sabzposh district.
Thirty six Taliban insurgents including three prominent commanders were injured.
The operation was launched a week ago and ended on Sunday.
Mohammad Hanif Rezaee, spokesman for Shaheen 209 Military Corps, told Killid that 28 villages in Khoja Sabzposh were cleared of Taliban insurgents.
Rezaee added that only two Afghan soldiers were injured during the operation.
