Security officials in north zone reported that Taliban shadow district governor for Khoja Namose district of Faryab was killed in the province.
A press release from Shaheen 209 Military Corps stated that the shadow district governor was killed in Shaikhai area of the district.
The statement added that Mullah Zabiullah, Taliban shadow district governor for Khoja Namose, and his 12 fighters were killed and nine injured.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
