Six Taliban insurgents including three commanders were arrested in Jawzjan, and Paktika provinces by National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives.
A press release from NDS named the commanders as Ahmad Ghani son of Zahir, Rafigul son of Mueeb Khan, Rasoul Gul son of Mohammad Rasoul.
The statement added that Samoot Khan son of Nawab was another prominent Taliban commander arrested in Paktika.
The statement further stated that Samoot Khan was the mastermind of attack on a police check post in Janikhail district of Paktia in which three policemen were killed.
