At least 40 people have been killed and over 140 were wounded in Taliban deadly suicide attack in Kabul today, according to Ismael Kawosee, publication head at health ministry.
The explosive laden ambulance was detonated between two checkpoints outside the old Ministry of Interior building close to Sedarat Square, close to well known Chicken Street.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for today’s blast.
Following the blast, huge plumes of dark smoke rose above the city.
The incident comes a week after a Taliban-claimed attack on the Intercontinental Hotel in the city, which left 18 dead, and days after the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) killed at least three people at the office of Save the Children in Jalalabad, provincial capital of Nangarhar.
