Taliban militants attacked Afghan Local Police check posts in Begum area of Imam Saheb district of Kunduz province yesterday evening.
Mahbobullah Saidi, district governor of Imam Saheb, told Killid that five Afghan Local Police members were killed and five injured.
He added that the area was cleared by Afghan forces earlier but Taliban militants wanted to overran it last night. He further stated that Taliban militants’ attack was met with fierce resistance by Afghan forces.
Meanwhile Zabiullah Muhajid, a so-called Taliban spokesman, claimed that 9 Afghan Local Police members were killed and 10 injured.
