Security officials in Helmand said that a prominent Taliban commander was killed in the province.
A press release from Helmand police stated that the commander was killed in a clearing operation last night.
The commander named ‘Hafiz Malik’ was the group military in-charge in Khakriz district.
The statement added that a radio along with a gun was recovered from the commander.
Taliban militants are yet to comment on the incident.
