Local officials in Herat reported that a tribal elder kidnapped by the Taliban was set freed.
Jailani Farhad, spokesman for Herat governor, told Killid that the man was abducted by unknown gunmen two days ago.
Farhad added that he was released through mediation of tribal elders.
Farhad further stated that the motive behind the incident is yet to be known.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
