Local Radio Station Burned in Ghor

Officials of Sarhad radio station in Ghor said that unknown men set fire on their radio station last night.
Maroof Saidi, media director of Sarhad radio station, said that it is not yet clear whether their station was set on fire or was thrown a hand grenade.

Officials of Sarhad radio station in Ghor said that unknown men set fire on their radio station last night.
Maroof Saidi, media director of Sarhad radio station, said that it is not yet clear whether their station was set on fire or was thrown a hand grenade.
Saidi added that all their facilities have been destroyed and radio broadcast is also discontinued.
He claimed that the radio was threatened to be set on fire by unknown men earlier as well.
Meanwhile Ghor police confirmed the incident and said that the cause of the blaze might be explosion of gas cylinder.
Iqbal Nizame, provincial police spokesman, said that police have started investigation to ascertain the cause of the incident.
The Afghan media have flourished since the fall of the Taliban in 2001, but journalists often face threats from militants and warlords for airing critical stories, playing music or employing women.
