Local officials in Herat said that two customs department officials were arrested over financial corruption charges yesterday.
Jailani Farhad, provincial governor’s spokesman, told Killid that the two individuals had allegedly embezzled more than one million Afs.
He added cases of the detainees had been sent to judicial organs for investigation.
More details would be shared with the media upon completion of the inquiry.
