Afghan forces destroyed a narcotics processing factory in Khogyani district of Nangarhar province yesterday.
Brigadier Sherin Aqa Faqiri, spokesman for Selab 201 Corps, said that the drugs factory was destroyed during a joint operation of Afghan forces.
The factory was discovered in Pirkhel area and all materials, including hashish, opium, acid and others were destroyed in the operation.
Faqiri added that the facility belonged to militants because it was located far away from residential areas.
The army spokesman said a joint operation codenamed “Operation Number-4-9” was underway in Khogyani district of Nangarhar.
Around 12,000 families were displaced from the areas as a result of the militants’ infighting.
