Security officials in north and northeast zone said that Taliban recruitment in-charge for suicide attacks was arrested in Faryab province.
Nasrullah Jamshidi, spokesman for Shaheen 209 corps, told media that the commander was arrested during a search operation by Afghan security forces.
He added that Mullah Sahar Gul, Taliban suicide recruitment in-charge, was arrested in a security check point in Pul-e-Maimana area of the province.
He further stated that in a separate incident, 15 Taliban insurgents were killed and 22 injured in Afghan security forces’ operation in Saraqala and Baimoghli areas as well as in Khoja Sabzposh and Tagab Shirin districts.
Seven Taliban insurgents were also arrested in a special operation conducted by Afghan security forces’ special unit in Chamtal district of Balkh province.
Taliban militants are yet to comment.
