Parwan deputy education director Atta Mohammad Matin was killed and another education official was wounded in a magnetic IED explosion last night.
Mohammad Zaman Mamozai, chief of Parwan police, told media that the incident occurred at about 10 pm on Tuesday night when Matin was on his way home.
Mamozai added that Zalmai Shahed, head of Parwan education department, was also injured in the blast.
Mamozai further stated that a magnetic IED had been attached to Matin’s vehicle.
One person has been arrested in connection with the incident.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
