Two explosions were reported in Gardez, provincial capital of Paktia around 10 am today. Abdullah Hasrat, spokesman for Paktia governor, told Killid that the explosions occurred close to police headquarters and clashes are underway. According to the Ministry of Interior Affairs (MOI), insurgents targeted police training academy close to the police headquarters. MoI reported that insurgents detonated a car bomb and then entered police training centre. There were no reports of casualties. Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and confirmed one of the vehicles used in the attack was a Humvee.
