Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) confirmed that Toryalai Abdyani, police chief for Paktia province, was killed in today’s deadly suicide bombings in Gardez city. A press release from MoI stated that two vehicles were used in the attack – one truck bomb and one Humvee ‘bomb’. The target was the police training college. Following the explosions, insurgents stormed the centre and clashed with security forces for hours. Meanwhile sources claim that 15 people were killed and over 150 injured. Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
