Security officials in north of the country reported that 45 Taliban insurgents including five commanders were killed in Afghan security forces’ ground and air operations in Ghormach and Qaisar districts.

45 Taliban Insurgents Killed in Faryab

Security officials in north of the country reported that 45 Taliban insurgents including five commanders were killed in Afghan security forces’ ground and air operations in Ghormach and Qaisar districts. A press release from 707 Pamir Zone identified the commanders as Mullah Hakim, Mullah Gulbuddin, Mullah Abdul Khaliq, Mullah Wali, and Mullah Rahmatullah. The statement added that Mullah Rahmatullah was in charge of Taliban military commission in Qaisar. Taliban militants are yet to comment on the statement.
