At least 27 schools have been closed as result of Daesh threats in Darzab and Khanaqa districts of Jawzjan province. Abdulhai Yashen, provincial educational director, said that most families do not send their children to schools even in areas under government control due to Daesh threats. Meanwhile Baz Mohammad Dawar, district governor of Darzab, said that 18,000 children have been deprived of education due to insecurity. He added that 25 schools are in areas under Daesh control. Two schools also remain closed in Khanaqa district due to security threats.
