Uruzgan’s Chora Cleared of Taliban Insurgents

Security officials in Uruzgan province reported that Chora district was cleared of Taliban insurgents. Brigadier Rahmat Shah Qademi, commander of 4th division of Afghan National Army (ANA), told Killid that 120 Taliban insurgents were killed and 60 injured in Afghan security forces’ operations to crack down on Taliban insurgents over the past few days in the district. Qademi asserted that Taliban insurgents had converged from Helmand and Zabul province to launch coordinate attack on the district but were met by fierce resistance of Afghan security forces. He further stated that a clearing operation is still ongoing in the area. According to Qademi, only three Afghan soldiers were injured.
