At least 16 policemen and two civilians were killed in Taliban attack on police check posts in Farah province. Jamila Amini, head of Farah provincial council, told Killid that Taliban attacked police check posts in Nawbahar area of the district last night. She added that security forces clashed with Taliban and requested reinforcements from provincial capital. She further stated that reinforcements were not dispatched and thus resulted in Afghan security forces’ casualties. According to Amini, the check posts fall to the Taliban insurgents. Killid tried to seek comments of provincial governor and police spokesmen but no information was made available.
