Security officials in Ghazni province reported that Taliban offensive on Dehyak district was repulsed by security forces. General Zaman, chief of Ghani police, said that Taliban converged on the district but was met with fierce resistance by security forces. He added that eight Afghan policemen were killed and some others were injured. Zaman further stated that Afghan security forces dealt a heavy blow to the Taliban insurgents but the exact figure is yet to be known. According to Zaman, 19 Taliban insurgents were either killed or injured in airstrikes conducted by security forces in Andar, Dehyak, and Waghez districts. Ghazni is a disturbed province where Taliban are actively operating in a number of its districts.
