At least five people were killed and 30 injured in today’s suicide bombing in Lashkargah city in Helmand. Omar Zowak, spokesman for Helmand governor, told Killid that most of those killed or injured were civilians. Meanwhile Abdul Salam Afghan, spokesman for Helmand police, told Killid that more than 65 people were either killed or injured. Afghan added that the incident happened outside police headquarters, which is close to a Madrassa. He further stated that most of those injured were students at the Madrassa. Taleban claimed responsibility for the attack in a Twitter posting.
