Local officials in Maidan Wardak province said that security forces suppressed a Taleban attack on Chak district. Naqeb Amini, spokesman for Maidan Wardak police, told Killid that 17 Taleban insurgents including four Pakistani nationals were killed or injured in clashes with Afghan security forces. He added that Taleban wanted to carry out coordinated attacks on the district’s centre but were met with counter attack of Afghan security forces. He further stated that six Taleban insurgents were killed and 11 injured. Taleban militants are yet to comment on the incident.
