Afghan security forces dealt a heavy blow to armed anti-government groups in offensive and defensive operations in 17 provinces. Ministry of Defence (MoD) reported that more than 100 insurgents were killed, 61 injured and six were arrested. The statement added that among those killed were 28 Daesh and two Al-Qaeda militants. The statement further stated that Afghan security forces seized ammunition, seven motorbikes, two cars, and a weapon reservoir of the insurgents in Shah Joe and Arghandab districts of Zabul province. According to MoD, several weapon reservoirs of Taleban were also destroyed in Nawa district of Helmand. Armed anti-government groups are yet to comment on the statement.
