Kazakhstan Reiterates Support for Afghan Air Force

Kazakhstan defence minister met with Afghan National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar and said that his country is ready to support Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism. The visit with Kazakhstan’s Defence Minister Daniyal Akhmetov came during Atmar’s visit to Kazakhstan at the head of a high level delegation. During the meeting Akhmetov stressed that it is clear for the regional countries that peace and development in the region depends on stability in Afghanistan. A press release from Afghan National Security Council (NSC) stated that Akhmetov said that his country support regional countries and world’s efforts for peace and security in Afghanistan. The statement quoting Atmar stated that terrorism is becoming a serious problem day by day for the region and world. Kazakhstan has promised to support Afghan Air Force. Atmar on Tuesday met Kazakhstan’s deputy foreign minister Akylbek Kamaldinov in Astana, the nation’s capital, according to the NSC statement.
