Pakistan Army Launches Major Anti-ISIS Operation in Tribal Area
Pakistan Army launched on Sunday a major operation in the Rajgal valley of Khyber Agency, codenamed 'Khyber-IV'. "The armed forces have launched a major offensive in the Rajgal valley as part of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) General Asif Ghafoor told journalists. He added that the operation is being launched to counter Daesh. Ghafoor further stated that across the Khyber border there are safe havens for multiple”terrorist”organisations that are linked to recent attacks in Pakistan, including the Parachinar assault. Earlier Pakistan’s military began building a fence along the 2,611 kilometers border with Afghanistan as part of its security programme.
