West Indies defeated the Afghanistan national cricket team today in T20 internationals at Warner Park Sporting Complex in Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis. Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Afghanistan posed 110 runs from 20 overs. West Indies could chase down the target in 20 overs by losing four wickets. Walton and Evin Lewis from West Indies made early inroads into the slim chase, adding 33 in only 3.3 overs. Unlike the Afghanistan batsmen, they held their shape and picked their areas. Shapoor Zadran, the only front-line fast-bowling option for Afghanistan, conceded two fours off the first two balls of the chase dots.
