Afghan, Pak National Security Advisors Meet in Moscow

Afghan National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar met with Pakistan National Security Advisor Naseer Janjua on the sidelines of a global security conference in Moscow. A press release from National Security Council (NSC) stated that both sides discussed bilateral relations and implementation of the decisions taken at London’s Afghanistan, Pakistan, and UK trilateral security conference in March. The statement added that both sides also discussed the issue of border tensions. According to the statement, Atmar and his Pakistani counterpart also stressed on joint efforts to combat terrorism. It is reported that the participants may agree to plan an effective joint strategy to fight terrorism and coordinate regional efforts in this fight.
