National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar left Kabul for Moscow yesterday to attend a global security conference. A press release from National Security Council (NSC) stated that security officials from over 25 countries would attend the Russian security conference. The statement added that Atmar would discuss combating Daesh in Afghanistan with the participants. The statement further stated that the participants may agree on forming an effective joint strategy to fight terrorism and coordinate regional efforts in this fight. It is reported that Atmar would meet with national security advisers of China, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on the sidelines of the conference.
