Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that Saudi Arabia could play a pivotal and effective role in Afghan peace process with armed anti-government groups. He discussed the issue with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia yesterday in Riyadh. A press release from ARG (presidential palace) stated that both sides discussed bilateral relations and facets of cooperation in different fields. The statement added that the issue of visas for Afghan citizens was also discussed. The statement further stated that Saudi king said that Afghanistan is an old time friend of Saudi Arabia and he prays for lasting peace and prosperity in Afghanistan.
