Conflicts End in Zabul

Security officials in Zabul said that Afghan security forces and Taleban suffered heavy casualties in clashes in Shahjoy district. Ghulam Jailani Farahi, security head of Zabul police, said that 25 Taleban insurgents were killed and 70 were injured. He further stated that Afghan security forces seized more than 10 motorbikes of Taleban. Meanwhile Wazir Mohammad Jawadi, district governor of Shahjoy, said that the clashes have ended now. He added that 12 Afghan local and national policemen were also killed. Earlier Bismillah Afghanmal, Zabul governor, had said that 25 local and national policemen were killed and five injured in clashes with Taleban insurgents. Taleban militants have not commented on the incident yet.
