Afghanistan picked up a 5-1 win over Bahrain in their final AFC U-20 Futsal Championship match on Saturday to end their Group A campaign in some style. An early first half goal from Hassan Ali Jafari Afghanistan a deserved lead, before Abbas Ahmadi doubled his side’s advantage moments after the restart. According to the reports, Bahrain gave themselves a glimmer of hope through Sadeq Ahmed’s goal on the half-hour mark, but Abdul Razaq Momrak’s side responded in kind with a strike from Hosain Hasanzadah just a minute later. Despite Afghanistan playing without the suspended Jawad Haidari – who is the tournament’s current top scorer with ten goals – the South Asians continued to press as further goals from Ahmadi again and Farzad Mahmoodi saw Afghanistan finish third in Group A with nine points, and Bahrain two places lower in fifth.
