The First Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum left Kabul for Turkey on Friday for medical treatment. Bashir Ahmad Tayang, spokesman for Junbesh party (the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan) said that Dostum left Kabul to seek medical treatment in Turkey. Sources close to Dostum said that he will return back to Afghanistan after undergoing medical tests. In December-end last year, Ahmad Eshchi, former jawzjan governor and ex-member of the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan, claimed that he was assaulted by Dostum and was also sexually assaulted by Dostum’s bodyguards– while in his custody. He claimed that Dostum beat him up, threatened to kill him and sexually assaulted him.
