Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoI) reported that Afghan security forces recaptured Qala-e-Zal district of Kunduz. The statement added that the district was recaptured during an operation codenamed “Pamir 5” today. The statement further stated that the district headquarters building and police headquarters and other key parts of the district were cleared of insurgents. “The operation is currently ongoing in insecure parts of the district,” the statement reads. The ministry reported that Taleban suffered heavy casualties but did not provide figures. Taleban militants have not commented on the statement yet.
