At least tens of Taleban insurgents were either killed or injured in Afghan security forces’ clearing operations in parts of Laghman province. A press release from Laghman governor’s office stated that Afghan security forces launched an operation codenamed “Selab 5” in Basram, Katal, Maidane, Hakim Abad, Qasba and some other parts of Alingar district yesterday in which 15 Taleban insurgents were killed and 15 others were injured. The statement added that among those killed were prominent commanders. The statement further stated that the operation will continue until the areas are totally cleared of the insurgents. It is reported that two policemen were also injured. Taleban militants have not commented on the incident yet.
