US President Donald Trump warned fired FBI Chief James Comey against leaking material to the media. In a tweet on Friday, he said Comey had “better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations”. US media reported that Comey, who had been leading an inquiry into possible collusion between Trump election campaign officials and Russia, was fired on Tuesday. Trump said in an NBC News interview Thursday that Comey told him once over dinner and twice by telephone that he isn’t under investigation. Meanwhile in the NBC interview, Trump derided Comey as a “showboat” and “grandstander” and said Comey had left the FBI in “virtual turmoil.”
