A number of provincial council members and residents reported that Qala-e-Zal district of Kunduz collapsed to the Taleban. Sayed Asadullah Sadat, a member of provincial council of Kunduz, told Killid that the district fell to Taleban around 10 am today. He added that after heavy clashes and fierce resistance by Afghan security forces, Taleban insurgents took control of the district compound. Juma Khan Hakimi, a tribal elder, also confirmed the fall of the district. Meanwhile Mahbobullah Sayede, district governor of Qala-e-Zal, said that heavy clashes are still going on in the area. So far there are no reports of casualties.
