Afghan President Ashraf Ghani held a telephonic conversation with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon yesterday evening. A press release from ARG (presidential palace) stated that both side discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interests. President Ghani thanked Rahmon for cooperation in treatment of those injured in Shaheen 209 Corps’ attack two weeks ago. Ghani also extended an invitation to Rahmon to visit Afghanistan at an appropriate time. Rahmon welcomed Ghani’s invitation and said that his country is ready to help Afghanistan to fight terrorism. Earlier Tajikistan beefed up forces along the border with Afghanistan as insecurity increased in northern provinces of Afghanistan.
